I happened to be up at Woodbury Commons for work on Friday and got to visit the brand new Jack Spade outlet on its opening day.  I scored this awesome tote that I was devastated I had missed at the regular store.  Another example where good things come to procrastinators.

My first week at the new job started with a bang!  There was an employee only sample sale, and I cleaned up!  And I actually like the job to boot.  Things are seriously looking up.

Pixie Market

Wu take 2

My first blog post back in January '09 was about Jason Wu, inspired by his looks for the First Lady.  Now he's on the verge of launching a collection for Target.  Most of Target's collaborations have fallen short of the hype in my opinion, but I'm optimistic about this one.  We'll find out on February 5th!

Summer Scoop Up

As Summer comes to a close, there's a lot of great sales to take advantage of.  I found these guys online, but when I went to J.Crew to check them out in person the store was closed at 8:15!  I guess the city that never sleeps makes exceptions.

I made an exciting discovery that I just shared with my coworker.  There's an amazing discount beauty supply store on 37th bet 5th & Park.  Many goodies for ridiculous prices.  Like this Stila eye pallet for $15!

Did this all fall off of a truck?  Maybe I don't want to know.

Thanks to the perks of employment with a women's fashion company, these green dandies, previously sold out, are on their way to me!  It's good to know people who have access to the warehouse inventory list.

sartorial situation

I ordered a camel cape on sale at asos, and when it arrived it looked kind of blah, so I was planning on returning it.  THEN I was looking through the archives of TONIC, a blog I delightfully stumbled upon, and there it was looking like perfection on Giia!  I'm going to have to give this one another look...especially at the sale price!

Advantage Ithaca

OK, not really.  But there is one thing that's convenient about Ithaca- no competition for shopping.  Not that there's much to shop for, but I had my eye on this Sonia Kashuk Spring compact and was actually able to find it in person at the Target in Ithaca.  When I lived in Brooklyn all the cute things would get snapped up in a second.  So thanks Ithaca, now I'll have an easier time applying my makeup on the train with this nifty rattan little compact.

Mexico!

We took a last minute trip down to Playa del Carmen to relax and get some sun.  I loved going in all the handicraft stores and look at all the brightly colored goodies.  I have to learn more about Mexican Halloween and the burning heart imagery.  I bought a heart inside a box painted like the sky, a beautiful ceramic plate and a mini nativity scene.  I took some photos of things I loved but had to leave behind, like these crosses:

Sale Time

This is a great time of year to find deals on things that don't normally go on sale.  That is of course if you've got any money left over from the holidays!  I'd get this if my credit card bill were a digit less.

Bergdorf, you've done it again

The best holiday window displays are always at Bergdorf Goodman.  This year was "Wish You Were Here" featuring all different modes of transportation.  Even the wind couldn't keep me from stopping to marvel.

This year they published a coffee table book on all their window displays.  It was $500.  I'll just have to stick to admiring these photos for now.

I was just looking through the Cornell Store's website to get a jump on holiday shopping for the in-laws and came across this little guy.  I wonder how well it sells.  I know I'd love to snap it up!

Uniqlo: a discovery of affordable clothes

My friends came to visit this weekend and left us with a tidbit of shopping advice: Uniqlo.  While exploring their site I came across a dress and a vest I must own.  Is it too early to make a list for Santa?
