cookie time!

Tomorrow we're going to Whole Foods to decorate gingerbread cookies.  Technically it's a competition, but since we'll probably have the youngest contestant, we'll have to do our best to restrain our competitive spirits and let the kids have their fun... and then eat all the cookies.

This cheat sheet apron might help me feel more comfortable cooking.  It's more likely to just make me feel overwhelmed to put on an apron.

mahhhvelous marzipan

Marzipan is one of my favorite treats, so I thought I'd look up a recipe to make some.  I love the way they look when they're painted to look like bright ripe fruit.  So appealing.  Perhaps I'll make some as an upcoming project.

Hangover Helper

The Hungoevr Coobkook is a genius idea, but they didn't account for one thing- who the hell wants to cook when they're hungover?  You need to have a designated sober person to cook for you the next morning.  It will surely come in handy during this season of eggnog.

I'm headin' upstate to see my honey for the weekend!  Good times will be had.  Here's a photo of past good times, where he put his talents in the kitchen to use to make rugelach.

a chill in the air

It's been dipping into Fallish temperatures lately, and it reminds me that I can actually appreciate the changing seasons now that I'm not consumed with school work. I think I will venture into a baking project. These spatulas are motivating me.
