Table for 2, Please!

As a wannabe world traveler, I'd place a reservation for brunch in the Swiss Alps (literally IN the Alps) here.  It would make the climb worth it (not to mention the view)!

Keeping it Light

Ashes, ashes, we all fall down.  And look up.  And admire the Ash pendant light by Tom Raffield.

Tree Line

I love this project.  If I were more courageous, I would undertake projects like these and kiss my 9 to 5 goodbye.  Maybe I'll be courageous one day.

I wish!

I think I'll negotiate for a raise by just leaving this pillow on my boss's chair.  It worked for Linda Evangelista!

Presidential pain in the...

I celebrated President's Day by experiencing extra slow holiday schedule trains, including the Q, which wasn't running at all, while the rest of NYC stayed home.  Sigh... at least there were less smelly people crowded up against me when the train finally did arrive.  This isn't typically a gift giving holiday, but if it were, I found the perfect one.

Breaking Brownstone News!

It appears that Jenna Lyons' oft photographed Park Slope brownstone (just a block away, yet a world away from moi) is on the market AND she's a big les!  This is only breaking news to me since all I do is work anymore, but I found all the dets of the November listing here.

Political Statement

Apparently, Anna Wintour has organized all her design cronies to make their own fashion statement to benefit  Obama's 2012 reelection campaign.  I too like to make statements through fashion.  This one by Tracy Reece is my fav.

my sentiments exactly

We made each other Valentines this year, but this sums up how I feel about my man.

Time for a great new clock

I found a photo of this clock here, but I want the actual clock!  I think it would look adorable next to my oversize white one.  I could collect clocks and become a crazy clock lady!  It's good to have goals.

Puppet Master

Who doesn't love a good puppet?  The Kiki and Kaikai animated video I saw for Murakami's exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum a few years ago left me wanting more.  These Kiki and Kaikai puppets are a must have for any art lover. I'd love a pair myself.

I heart manicures

I'm having a sad Valentine's day away from my Valentine this year, but luckily, there's a pop up chocolate bar on 14th and 8th that I'm going to check out a lunch.  Too bad I didn't give myself this manicure to cheer myself up!

capturing winter

I took this photo of a snowflake stuck to my windshield last winter.  Then it was a common ocurrance, but this year has been virtually snow free.  I'm eagerly anticipating a very wintery weekend up in Ithaca.  I'm excited to finally get a dose of some wonderland magic!

teeny responsibilities- I could handle that

I can't keep plants alive.  They're way too much responsibility for me.  These however promise to be something I could handle.  I'll have to be the judge of that, but I can vouch for their teeny awesomeness.

Everyone knows sandwiches and art are a winning combo.  That sentiment is perfectly captured below...

Picture Perfect

I'm loving the nature themed photo printed fabric trend going on for Spring.  A few favorites:

from Marios...

Timely Times

I was reading an article in the Times this morning that I got to act out this evening.  My view from the Q train in my morning and evening commutes helps to round out my day with a bit of New York magic.  Since it's winter, I haven't seen the sun set from the train since the summer... until tonight.  Oh, that New York magic gets me every time!

From the Times:

From my journey home tonight:

Clearly, the Times doesn't use camera phones to document their stories.
