snow for Easter

Easter will be here in a few days and we still have a giant mound of snow in the backyard!  Here's a few images of Easter trees from terrain that are warming me up.

Carys's first Easter was full of photo ops and delicious food!  We had an egg hunt with simple colorful dyed eggs in the yard.  When these are not a choking hazard we can get more creative.

Happy Easter!  No eggs were decorated in this construction zone of a house this year, but I'll file this idea away for the future.  I'm looking forward to decorating for holidays with kids.  It will help me justify my own level of child like excitement for all things holiday!

For the past 6 years, the Washington Post has hosted a Peeps diorama contest.  Peeps are always a welcome addition to my Easter basket, and dioramas have a special place in my heart, so I find this combo particularly exciting.  Here are a few past entries; all winners in my book.

Incredible Eggs

I took a tutorial from Martha about marbleizing eggs and ended up with a marvelous result.  Of course we added in the old standbys, half and half egg and magic crayon colored egg too.  I guess all I need is 3 hours of sleep a night to come up with amazing crafting projects.

Buona Pasqua!

Ever since spending Spring in Rome (in 2005- time to go back!) I have acquired a weakness for Italian Easter desserts.  I stopped by Veniero's Friday night and came across this creature.  How adorable & likely delicious.  If my mom didn't have dessert already covered I would have considered bringing him home.  Buona Pasqua!

Bunny Time

I'm so fortunate to be celebrating Easter with so many family members, including my Aunt who's in from Roma! These images encourage me to arrive early and take over the decor from my mother who will likely have her hands full cooking for 9.
