Mommy's first Mani

Last weekend at a bachelorette party I got my first mani as a mommy!  My regular life is coming back in baby steps (sloooooow baby steps since my baby is 9 months old!) and it's good to be back!  Painted nails are such a simple way to make a statement.  I look forward to making more bold statements like the color here.

I'm having a sad Valentine's day away from my Valentine this year, but luckily, there's a pop up chocolate bar on 14th and 8th that I'm going to check out a lunch.  Too bad I didn't give myself this manicure to cheer myself up!

Digits of Chrome

I'm forever on the search for a good chrome nail polish that is truly mirrored.  Sally Hanson comes close, but the perfect look still eludes me.

I painted my room today and a fun byproduct was that the white paint I used speckled my purple manicure.  I'll have to try to do this on purpose some time!

I've been thinking of a way to perk up my manicure rut.  I've found it in ombre glitter.  I just picked up a dark grey shade of glitter that I look forward to playing with.

OK, now I'm scared.  I have been wondering why neon nail polish is so hard to find outside of salons (can't even find it on Essie's own site), and I just read that there are safety risks associated with them.  What?!  Like, I might blind myself with the neon-ness and step off the corner into oncoming traffic?  I need more specifics.  Where's the beauty doctor when I need her?

brooklyn lacquer

When I saw this image on the Brook&Lyn blog, I thought it must be O.P.I.'s shattered crackle nail polish in gold over a light pink.  I looked for it, but O.P.I. doesn't make shattered in gold.  Did she use gold foil?  It turns out it's Rococo gold leaf lacquer.  Crazy...crazy awesome.

I'm often looking for a new manicure option.  My nails grow easily, so it's always fun to rock some crazy french tips. 

Jelly Apple

Got mani pedis at a baby shower this weekend and got Essie's Jelly Apple.  It's the happiest shade of red I've ever seen!  Now I must own it.  Anyone know where to find Essie in Ithaca?
