Remembering Ireland

I went to Ireland in July for a family reunion. I had a wonderful time taking in all the scenery, sheep, Guinness, cheese, and new friends. Here's some of the highlights.

Havings gems on the bookshelf could seriously distract from all my delightful art books. Maybe I'll use them around my husband's econ books. Those could use some fabulicizing.

I wouldn't mind wearing this look for the Fall. Though, I'd probably die of frostbite in this neck of the woods. I don't mind suffering a little for fashion.

Black & white seems to be a thing with me lately. Last year it was blue. Phases are fun. One of these necklaces would add a fabulous pop to an everyday look. Originally I was all about the black... but the white is gaining on me. The only natural thing to do is have both.

Did I mention my birthday is coming up? Yeah, I thought so. I think I've got some surprises in store for me. The hubby and parentals have been having secret phone conversations. But I wouldn't mind receiving these lovelies from an admiring stranger. Or cash.

Homing Device

For this move, I'm doing my best to turn this peculiar space into a home. Our apartment on the first floor of a house has had so many odd details added to it over the years (not to mention ceiling fans- how the hell am I supposed to work with THAT?!) that it's taken a great deal of vision to get it where I want it. These rugs from anthro are on the perhaps list. A runner for the hallway and a bathmat just might help do the trick.

This necklace reminds me of my first birthday. Not that I remember it, but I've heard the story of how I tried my first potato chip and nearly lost my mind. I still feel that way about potato chips.

Daschunds were an obsession of a friend of mine before she had an actual baby. This might need to go in her Christmas stocking.

Now that I'm not in Brooklyn anymore, internet shopping will have to become my friend. I am no longer going to avoid shipping charges. However, my rent has been cut in half. It might work out.

CB2 is selling these items to spice up my decor as I'm settling in to a new space and my birthday is around the corner. The pillow's definitely going on the list. The nesting dolls are a bit silly in price.

Petrune to the rescue!

I moved up to Ithaca from Brooklyn a few weeks ago. The transition is going smoothly for the most part, however, the shopping dilemma is a little extreme. There's not even an H&M within a 100 mile radius. Today I explored the shops in the commons. The breakdown is as follows: 99% head shops and hippie wear, and 1% Petrune, the vintage shop that will save my life for 2 years. The prices are SICK compared to Brooklyn; many dresses are in the $30 range. I saw a necklace I've added to the b-day wish list pictured in this photo taken from their blog. Thanks, Petrune!
