A large part of my (work) trip to San Fran revolved around eating and friends.  I also snuck in a trip to the Muir Woods.  Travel is good.

The Drake

I took a lil business trip a few weeks ago to Toronto and stayed at The Drake Hotel.  Since we worked so much of the day, the hotel was the only part of Toronto we actually saw.  Luckily, it was a lovely Ace-esque experience.  Complete with stuffed animals to tuck me in.

Back to the Grind

First day back to the office!  Tired, but overall not so bad.  Good to dust off the ol' brain again.

I'm officially on maternity leave!  The office is on hold for now.  It's a strange feeling, but I'm happy to have time to get things in order and nest.

Coming Up Aces

It's been an intense period of travel for me lately.  In the beginning of September I went to Seattle for the first time on a business trip.  I stayed at the Ace hotel, which had some picture perfect views, but lacked a little functionality with no place to spread out toiletries in the bathroom.  The National Geographics from the '70s were a bonus though.

My first week at the new job started with a bang!  There was an employee only sample sale, and I cleaned up!  And I actually like the job to boot.  Things are seriously looking up.

A Year of Work

Today is my 1 year anniversary working at my current job.  If they loved me, I'd get an anniversary card like this one.  Or a cake.  Or a raise...

all work and no play

This month I've been working my tail off and neglecting this blog, and just about everything else in my life.  Hopefully I'm getting ahead of my projects and sleep fulled nights await me.  Until then, I'll be living the grind.

A love letter to Bryant Park

I've been working on Bryant Park for the past 6 months and it looks like we're moving to a new space sooner rather than later.  I've really enjoyed looking out at the trees and eating lunch in the park.  It's a beautiful park with seasonal plantings, games, books, a carousel, and lots of fun special events.  I'll miss you, BP!

The Fun Part

There's definitely some perks to working for a fashion company.  Especially when you're surrounded by things of this nature.

Me: I think that space would look better if it were open

Katie: But then you wouldn’t have any place to put gnomes

Me: We’re putting gnomes up there?

Katie: Duh.

24 little hours

What a difference a day makes!  Somehow the whole mood of the office was different today!  Everything was less urgent and less stressful.  You could almost feel it return to its formerly paper flowered state when all was right with the world.

now THAT was a shitty day

Today was one of those days.  Work stressed me out to no end, and now all the plans I had for my birthday on Thursday are up in the air because I might not be able to take the day off to move into a new apartment AND have time left over to do something birthday-esque.  All because of work.  Why wasn't I happy as a housewife again?

Beekman Beer Garden

Had a fun time at the company summer party at Beekman Beer Garden.  I know a few people who may not be feeling so well tomorrow morning.  It's times like these when I definitely don't miss my twenties!
