My husband's family lives in Nashville, so it's a city I visit often. I've always felt like there was a hip and cool bohemian underworld there somewhere waiting for us to discover it. In my attempts to discover it, I've discovered a Nashville based street style blog, and this local craftylicisusness. (As soon as I have a permanent residence I'll have to place my very own order.) I'm close... I can feel it!

Hair Idols
This image combines 2 of my hair idols of the '80s (my formative years). Crystal Gayle for length, and Jem for color. Where would I be today without the influence of those two musical, colorful ladies?!

Sock Portrait
As described by the artist herself, "Red is an artist. She likes to paint, but not with a paintbrush." I've gotta start making stuff out of my laundry.

Pixie Market
I discovered ASOS's big sister, Pixie Market the other day and immediately added like 400 items to my wish list. Here's a few looks that captured my heart.

The Beginning
8 years ago today, I was lying by a pond seeing shooting stars for the first time in my life! As a city girl, I didn't realize that this is a pretty frequent occurrence (there are millions every night according to this article), and all you have to do is look up on a clear night and wait for them to appear. While I was watching shooting stars with a boy I liked, he told me that he liked me too. It's amazing to remember how it all began. So sweet; so cinematic.

Field of View
"Horizons" combines scenes kind of like an old memory. I'd love to use this idea with my own personal photos.

Floral Perk
I've placed my order for these babies. Ever since I saw the sample months ago I fell in love. Now they're finally in the store! The employee perks of working in fashion are good... cause they're clothes.

Katie's House
Yesterday I hung out at my friend Katie's house in Bed Stuy. I always love looking through people's personal affects. Naturally, hers were particularly interesting, as is she. Now I need my very own knitted eyeball.

Delft Revisited
This isn't your Grandmother's delft pottery. It's printed in a NYC theme with graffiti, yellow cabs, hot dog carts and garbage trucks galore. I'll take place settings for 12 please.

West Village Wandering
I enjoy walking through the West Village on my way home every night after work. Now that it's staying light out later and everything's blooming, I often stumble around some new bit of loveliness I'd never seen before. Maybe one day I'll be really surprised and see something like this.

mini scene stealer
This scene in a light fixture is right up my alley. What is it about miniature scenes that captivates me so?

It's in the Bag
This little ombre number is the perfect thing to take me into the Spring. Now I'll just have to go to France to pick one up.

Happy Peepster!
For the past 6 years, the Washington Post has hosted a Peeps diorama contest. Peeps are always a welcome addition to my Easter basket, and dioramas have a special place in my heart, so I find this combo particularly exciting. Here are a few past entries; all winners in my book.

Home Sweet Home
I had a little bit of a monkey wrench thrown into my future housing plans, which led me to explore new housing plans. It's exciting to look toward the future of a perfectly designed pad.

floaty whimsy
I'm not sure what I like more, the floaty photography, or the whimsical jewelry in this magnificent Lithuanian Etsy shop.

House Dressing
I look forward to taking more steps toward having an intentionally designed apartment. For now I'm collecting inspiration images to put into the mix.
mahhhvelous marzipan
Marzipan is one of my favorite treats, so I thought I'd look up a recipe to make some. I love the way they look when they're painted to look like bright ripe fruit. So appealing. Perhaps I'll make some as an upcoming project.
April Showers
Snow showers that is. After an entirely mild winter, I finally got a little snow over the weekend when I visited Ithaca.
