This year we'll be watching the ball drop in Northampton, MA with some old friends. Friends, food and a hot tub. What more could you ask for?

27th Nutcracker
Last night I went to the New York City Ballet's Nutcracker with my mom for the 27th year in a row. It's one of my favorite holiday traditions. That and cookies.

Digits of Chrome
I'm forever on the search for a good chrome nail polish that is truly mirrored. Sally Hanson comes close, but the perfect look still eludes me.
NYC Festivities
This year I had a Country Christmas in Nashville, but not before I got my annual NYC Christmas date to see the shop windows, the Rockefeller Center tree and dinner at Brasserie Ruhlmann.

Spicy
Yesterday I met a friend at Spice Market for lunch. We explored the lower level and discovered all these delightful tucked away nooks for private dining. One day I'll dine privately in public.
Stripes are the new Plaid
I'm not sure where this image originated from, but I found it here. My husband and I have noticed around Brooklyn that stripes are the new plaid. This chair and ottoman agree.
Liz
Quick, there's still time to run over to Christie's and get you very own piece of Liz Taylor memerobelia! This charm bracelet fetched $362,500 but you can probably get a deal on her script for National Velvet.

Marcheeeeeesa
Here I was thinking I'd gotten really carried away buying a Notte by Marchesa gown for my black tie Christmas party on Friday, but after exploring the Marchesa website, there's a whole other level that I could have taken it to.

Hangover Helper
The Hungoevr Coobkook is a genius idea, but they didn't account for one thing- who the hell wants to cook when they're hungover? You need to have a designated sober person to cook for you the next morning. It will surely come in handy during this season of eggnog.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
My favorite holiday season has kicked off in full force, and now that I'm living and working in NYC again, I get to experience the joy of walking through makeshift Christmas tree shops on the sidewalks. The sights and smells of the season are surrounding me and I can't get enough!!!

ranch
I like the idea of living in a ranch house, but not the 1950s cookie cutter version I grew up in. This set of beautifully photographed twin houses is a design I could get behind. It will look much more winter snuggly after I take out the extremely minimalist furniture.

collagenius
I've been thinking of collaging recently. It's an easy way to get back into making things. There's nothing easy about this collage though.

Nesting
These nesting tables offer a clever solution to small spaces. Plus, they're snuggling, which is always a bonus.

Did you know...
Georgia O'Keeffe made many paintings about New York City?
Many can be seen at The Brooklyn Museum's exhibition on the 20s. It's nice of the Brooklyn Museum to lift me out of my vagina flower naivete.

Thanks!
I'm thankful for many things including the extensive filmography of Woody Allen as documented last night by American Masters. It's wonderful to share a love of New York with so many great artists.

eco knuckles
In honor of the apparent global warming we're experiencing, I bring you jewelry that makes a difference. Now you can save the planet with a fierce statement ring.

Your Standard X Bulb
These bulbs look awesome for decorative purposes. They should offer custom filaments so their customers could set their own designs aglow. I'll have to walk down the block to The Standard to check 'em out!
lip lovin'
There's no way this makeup application would stay put past a photo shoot, but it makes for a stunning image!

These big colorful beads are so cheerful, you couldn't possibly be having a bad day while wearing them!

old meets new
Why aren't I in Rome right now?! They're having an awesome exhibit of modern Italian design within classic Italian venues. I need a teleporter stat!

money can't buy you happiness
But it can buy you some kick ass rainbow wedges! If you're in the market for thousand dollar shoes, these are a fantastic choice. Happy resort shopping!

trick or sweet!
There's no need for me to consume more sugar after a weekend of Halloween parties, but these skull sugar cubes are pretty irresistible.

Happy Weekend!
I'm looking forward to a weekend of Halloween partying and sweet Fall treats. A breakfast of scary eggs or pumpkin pancakes is definitely in order!
Monetary Mischeif
This Moneygami puts a funky twist on currency. Maybe Matt will get some inspiration to add a boat hat to his Lincoln Halloween costume. That would just be confusing.
