snug as a bug

I like this beach.  I like this rug.  How much longer 'til my next vacation?

urban safari gear

This top is perfect for channeling exotic animals while working many floors up in the sky.

Extreme Decor

I've been enjoying NY Mag's Extreme Decor issue.  I'll have to file Amy Sedaris' hand painted frame into the good idea folder.

It's What's Inside that Counts

I have a full on obsession.  I can't control myself anymore.  This tape is a necessity.

lucky duck

I'm lucky that my dad got a job in Westchester in 1983 so I've always commuted in to Grand Central Terminal and not the giant hotdog stand that is Penn Station.  It's a beautiful building to walk through every day.  Tonight I had some time to kill and I happened upon this exhibition of a South Korean photographer who shot everything from the same window.  The birds were my favorite.

ch-ch-ch-changein!

Love this change purse!  Love all that's yellow and pear!

It's here!

This skirt rings in the long awaited season deliciously.

Spike!

Too bad this awesome spike necklace is sold out of its etsy shop.  There's other fun pieces to console me though.

Nautical Digs

The jump in temperature makes this trippy decor au courant.

My Future Chandelier

Way in the future.  It's good to keep a list though

Find it here.

Incredible Eggs

I took a tutorial from Martha about marbleizing eggs and ended up with a marvelous result.  Of course we added in the old standbys, half and half egg and magic crayon colored egg too.  I guess all I need is 3 hours of sleep a night to come up with amazing crafting projects.

let's face it...

I'm always more prone to reach for a movie than a book on a rainy day.  I think it'a a product of rebelling from so much higher education (7 years total- ugh!) but if I had this bookmark, it would make reading more appealing.

Buona Pasqua!

Ever since spending Spring in Rome (in 2005- time to go back!) I have acquired a weakness for Italian Easter desserts.  I stopped by Veniero's Friday night and came across this creature.  How adorable & likely delicious.  If my mom didn't have dessert already covered I would have considered bringing him home.  Buona Pasqua!

Passing Through

I was referred to this photographer for a project shooting a space I designed.  Looking through his portfolio makes my job fun.

sitting by a thread

I enjoy a crazy chair now and then.

Black and White and Read all Over

I can't imagine this would be too durable on its own.  It must be treated.  Pretty rad.

Paper Squiggles

I'm such a sucker for these paper curls.  I don't care what it is- I'll love it.  This specimen delights me.

grass island

This ottoman is a great way to get a little bit of the outdoors indoors.  I'd like to have one to sit on at work.  Then I wouldn't have to rely on sunny days to have lunch "outside".

Antique Find of the Day

Does it get any better than this antique bowling trophy?  How come objects have gone so downhill since 1893?

Ushering out the cold

Since it's going to be 77 tomorrow in NYC, it's a great time to find deals on sweaters like this one:

Another Day, Another Dollar

Not for these guys!  What a great environment to work in!  Spanish architects, SelgasCano are all about incorporating the outdoors in their spaces.  How civilized.

torture lounger

This chair looks inviting and frightening at the same time.  Not surprisingly, it's German.

Judge for yourself

If this is hiding a column I think it's kinda awesome.  If it's not I think it's kinda silly.  Should it matter?

Followed by Fruit

As much as I try to put this Stella McCartney collection out of my head it heeps popping up!  It was in the T style magazine I just read on the train. It was front and center at Neiman's (ok, that one I could have forseen).  It just pops up to make me have to resist it even harder.  Not that I'm in that range of spending, but it still hurts me.  Maybe I'll find one at a thrift store in 20 years.  Something to look forward to.

Google Graphics

I went to Google something today as I do 8,000 times every day and they greeted me with this delightful twist on their moniker:

It's fun when Google incorporates what's going on that day with their logo.  Today's the 119th anniversary of the first documented ice cream sundae (obviously).  Maybe I'm so enamoured with this one cause I gave up sweets for lent.

Not your Grandmother's Lighting

I love anything that you can customize on a daily basis.  Doesn't it look like that girl's having a blast playing with her giant lite brite?

I'm dreaming of some white peep toes...

It's Spring!  Probably gonna snow in NYC tomorrow, but that's okay, cause I've got Spring footwear to drool over courtesy of Calvin and Sam.

fabrique

Christian Lacraox's new line of Arles Fabrics is rated for cigarette burns.  How en Francais.

Pull up a Tree

For those times when you just don't want to come inside, you can compromise by taking the outside in with you via this bench.

Advantage Ithaca

OK, not really.  But there is one thing that's convenient about Ithaca- no competition for shopping.  Not that there's much to shop for, but I had my eye on this Sonia Kashuk Spring compact and was actually able to find it in person at the Target in Ithaca.  When I lived in Brooklyn all the cute things would get snapped up in a second.  So thanks Ithaca, now I'll have an easier time applying my makeup on the train with this nifty rattan little compact.

Mexico!

We took a last minute trip down to Playa del Carmen to relax and get some sun.  I loved going in all the handicraft stores and look at all the brightly colored goodies.  I have to learn more about Mexican Halloween and the burning heart imagery.  I bought a heart inside a box painted like the sky, a beautiful ceramic plate and a mini nativity scene.  I took some photos of things I loved but had to leave behind, like these crosses:

Gilt-y Pleasure

I love to look at all the vacation deals on Jetsetter and pretend I'm shopping for a fabulous vacation.  Next week Matt & I are going on a little trip to Mexico as a last minute celebration before I start a new job, but that didn't stop me from fantasizing about a vacation at this hotel in Sweeden.

Sia

I've been indulging in Sia's new album We Are Born and she's been brightening my days.  I found this great photo of her from a few years ago.  With a different haircut and when she's not smiling and telling a story about her old boyfriend Muskrat she's almost unrecognizable!

Turning the Corner

Now that Matt and I have a non-student lifestyle in sight, it's nice to think of all the things we can do now.  Like lunch in Milan here!

Northbound

I'm headin' upstate to see my honey for the weekend!  Good times will be had.  Here's a photo of past good times, where he put his talents in the kitchen to use to make rugelach.
